Bisanti, 3108 Rankin Road, Commander of St. Anthony Village Post <br /> #513, commented on the statement from the Post to the Council on what measures <br /> would be taken to meet the objections raised regarding the granting an On-Sale <br /> liquor license to the Legion Club. Several members of the Council expressed a <br /> hesitancy to setting a precedent which other groups might use as a basis for <br /> applying for On-Sale licenses. Mr. Bisanti was asked if a Bottle Club license <br /> would not serve as well in providing the Post with a method of entertaining <br /> visiting Legion members and he said he would present the alternative to his <br /> fellow board members. Police Chief Fd Brown also spoke of the additional police <br /> manpower another liquor establishment might require. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to deny the request for <br /> an On-Sale liquor license from Post #513. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Irving Malison, of the Millam Magnuson Post #182, 22nd and Central Avenue NF <br /> presented a plaque to Chief Brown which recognized his cooperation and service as <br /> well as the rest of the police department in the "Bike Safety" program. In <br /> thanking the VFW for the plaque, Chief Brown in turn commended the VFW for their <br /> part in the bike safety program and expressed his opinion that the program should <br /> be enlarged to include adult education in safe bicycle riding. <br /> Commander Malison then presei:ted to Mayor Miedtke an American flag which had <br /> been flown over the capitol of the United States on October 20, 1973• <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Haik to extend the thanks <br /> of the Council to the VFW for their commendation of Chief Brown and his depart- <br /> ment. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to also thank the <br /> American Legion Post #513 for the plaque which they had recently presented to <br /> the St. Anthony Police Department. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Commander Bisanti told the Council of the 13 week Water Safety Course the <br /> Legion was sponsoring starting in March. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sundland to give approval to <br /> a second.-reading of the Wetlands Ordinance #1973-003• <br /> 0 <br /> Before voting on the motion and following a discussion of changes in the ordinanc- <br /> es and a suggestion by Mr. Vickrey of the need for defining the specific areas <br /> affected by the ordinance, Mr. Sundland withdrew his second of the motion and <br /> the motion died for lack of a second. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to table action <br /> on Ordinance 1973-003 until the next Council meeting, March 12, 1974. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The meeting was recessed at 9:15 P.M. and reconvened at 9:25 P.M. <br />
