Ludwig <br /> • Award for 1974. <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 74-019 <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING MAYOR VICTORIA <br /> JOYNER OF OSSEO FOR THE C.C. LUDWIG AWARD <br /> Motion carried. <br /> A discussion was initiated by Councilman Sauer regarding the dissatisfaction <br /> voiced by the residents of St. Anthony as to the amount of news coverage given <br /> community events by the Sun Newspaper and the possibility of establishing a <br /> different legal newspaper. lex. Vickrey read the statuatory requirements of a <br /> legal newspaper for the Council. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sundland to invite Mr. Wasniewski <br /> editor of the North Sun to attend the next council meeting to discuss reasons why <br /> consideration was being given to changing legal publications. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mayor Miedtke and Councilman Stauffer reported on the Suburban League meeting <br /> and told the Council that the Metropolitan Council had set up an advisory <br /> committee of elected officials from the metropolitan area and if any of them were <br /> interested in becoming a member of such a committee where they could help in the <br /> determination of metro impact they could indicate such a desire to either Mayor <br /> Miedtke or Jack Kozlak of the Metro Council. <br /> • Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Sauer to designate the <br /> St. Anthony Chief of Police as the official applicant to request reimbursement <br /> from the Minn. Peace Officers' Training Fund to cover the cost of training <br /> for the department's new patroloZn. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Dulgar reported that the coot of the Tennis Court Lighting Project was running <br /> about $2,000 above the amount budgeted and suggest that these funds might be <br /> taken from the Council's Contingency Fund. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to direct the City <br /> Manager to indicate to the St. Anthony Board that we hoped to award the low bid <br /> for all these courts and ask them to concur if possible. <br /> Motion carrie d. <br /> Mr. Dulgar was directed to try to set up the next ,joint School Board-Council <br /> meeting for May 22, 1974. <br /> A discussion of results of a recent meeting with the School Board regarding the <br /> use of Parkview School as a city hall resulted in the following motion: <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct the City <br /> Manager to inform the council at their next meeting as to the time frame within <br /> which all pertinent information would have to be in regarding preparation of plans, <br /> setting up a bond issue, estimated construction timing and possible completion <br /> dates in order that the Council could consider the expansion of the present city <br /> hall to meet the City's needs for more room. <br />
