-2- <br /> Mr. Dulgar pointed out numerous instances where the City had compelled residents <br /> to remove signs which advertised a business activity in their homes. The Mayor <br /> • said the City ordinance does not allow any commercial activities in residential <br /> areas and recommended the request be denied. <br /> Mr. Ingvaldsen was present and asked he be allowed to keep the sign until he was <br /> able to again find employment in the engineering field. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to grant a 90 <br /> day permit to Mr. R.E. Ingvaldsen to retain the sign he has in front of his <br /> residence at 3621 Stinson Blvd. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Sundland <br /> Nay: Sauer, Haik, Miedtke, Stauffer <br /> Motion not carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sauer to direct Mr. R.F. <br /> Ingvaldsen to remove within 90 days the T.V. repair sign he has in his front <br /> yard at 3621 Stinson Blvd. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Haik, Sauer, Sundland, Stauffer <br /> Nay: Miedtke <br /> • `ion carried. <br /> Mayor Miedtke congratulated Mr. Letourneau for his election as Chairman of the <br /> Planning Board. <br /> When Mr. Letourneau conveyed the Board's request for individual copies of the <br /> Robert's Rules of Order the City Attorney advised him that more than five years <br /> ago the Council had decided that Council meetings would be run by chair decision <br /> and not be bound by Robert's Rules of Order. The Board Chairman was assured his <br /> group would be provided at least a copy of the book as reference material. <br /> Mr. Allan Davidson of Medtronics Inc. appeared to discuss with the Council the <br /> removal of the temporary office building which his company two years previously <br /> had been granted permission to use to temporarily house personnel on the <br /> property on Highway 8. He requested that the company be granted permission to <br /> leave the trailer in its present location until the weather would permit its <br /> removal. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer that Medtronics <br /> be directed to remove the trailer on their property within the 90 days and that <br /> they be officially advised of these directions and provided with copies of the <br /> evening's minutes dealing with the matter. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • Nancy Reeves of the Metropolitan Council appeared and explained the new Federal <br /> rent subsidy program whereby the City could participate in the Federal lower <br /> income housing program with the Metro Council serving as the City's Housing <br /> and Redevelopment Agency. She explained how the program was intended to utilize <br /> 1 <br />
