• from the block grants and requested the establishrent of a task force
be placed for .further consideration on the January 11th agenda.
Mrs. Purge Cowan said the parents group would be able to present a
more concrete Proposal at that time.
In reply to Councilman I1aik°s queries regarding f17 which requested
funding for code enforcement in the Kenzie Terrace area, Mr. Fornell
saie that proposal had come .from a Planning Board member but the
Building Inspector felt the problems being experienced in that area
were not so much building code related as they were the result of
poor land usage and marginal profit business enterprises in the
shopping center.
Mr. Dulgar said he felt more time was necessary to get further input-
on
nputon #;6 of the proposals which would dedicate funds for the Sewer Inflow/
Infiltration Study and the Playor felt there should be rPA funds
available for this study.
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilr...an Haik to table
action on the application for Community Development Grant funds until
the January 11th Council meeting.
Motion carried unanimously.
PIr. Dulgar explained why he thought snencing $630 .00 for an informa-
tion page and map in the Sun Phone. Directory might not have merit in
the face of the City ' s budgetary problems. It was also felt that
although it was essential to provide the residents with the emergency
numbers and city office numbers through the directory, some of the
other information provided in the past might be a duplication of that
which the League of Women Voters were inclueing in their "Know Your.
City" booklet.
Motion by Councior..an Haik and seconded by Councilman Sundland to
authorize the nurchase of a. rnaxir..ur of one-half page in the 1977
St. Anthony Sun Directory in which can be listed the telephone numbers
for the Police and Fire Departments as well as those for the City
offices.
Plotion carried unanimously.
The Council then considered the directive from the fiennepin County
Assessor that the St. Anthony Assessor increase the residential
valuation by 11%. Also discussed was the comparison of sales prices
of St. Anthony homes which were sold in 1976 and their assessed
valuation which seemed to justify such an increase.
Motion by Councilman Eauer and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to re-
quest that a letter be sent to the Hennepin County Assessor with a
copy to the Commissioner of Taxation, to indicate the City's dis-
pleasure with the 11% increase until such time as F?inneapolis, Ramsey
County and other Minnesota cor.+.munities are brought up to the same per-
centage of valuation as the City of Vit. Anthony.
(4)
