• RESOLUTION 77-020
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF REVENUE
SHARING MONIES
Motion carried unanimously.
After explaining why the previous nomination for the League of Minne-
sota Cities ' C. C. Ludwig award had not been submitted, the Mayor
reported that the St. Anthony League of Women Voters had indicated
that Councilman Stauffer was their choice for nomination for the award
and he commended them for their action. However, Councilman Sundland
said that, though he felt Councilman Stauffer was certainly deserving
of the recognition, he wanted to submit Mayor Miedtke 's name for
nomination because of his years of service to the community. He es-
pecially commended the Mayor for the part he played in keeping dialogue
open, even in the face of disagreement between Council members , saying
"as long as there ' s dialogue, the system works" . Councilman Stauffer
said although she was gratified by the League 's vote of confidence,
she agreed with Councilman Sundland that the honor should go to the
Mayor because of the progress which has been made in St. Anthony since
he has been mayor.
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to
nominate Mayor Miedtke for the League of Minnesota Cities ' C. C. Ludwig
award for distinguished municipal service.
• Votion on the motion:
Aye: Sundland, Stauffer and Haik.
Abstention: Miedtke.
Motion carried.
Jim Fornell's memorandum of March 10th regarding the availability of
public service special project funding under C.E.T.A. and his recom-
mendations as to possible project activities for the City were then
considered. There was general agreement that such funding might provide
a further impetus for the City' s Operation I.D. sign-up program in
view of the evident success of the program in discouraging burglary of
objects which are so identified as reported by Councilman Sundland.
Councilman Haik wanted the Staff to ascertain whether short term pro-
jects such as tree plantings and the chip path around the St. Anthony
holding pond might qualify for funding.
Motion by Councilman Stauffer and seconded by Councilman Haik to request
the Staff to implement as much of the C.E.T.A. funding as possible for
projects in which the Council had indicated an interest.
Motion carried unanimously.
(2)
