• to the band was a very special situation which the Council recognized <br /> as a public relations effort benefiting the City since so many resi- <br /> dents were involved. <br /> Mrs. Marks said she could see why paying service organizations for <br /> service to the community might not be too wise and added that at any <br /> rate her group would probably expand their present clean up operations <br /> in the St. Anthony Cemetery to other City localities and the Mayor <br /> suggested a Clean Up Day might be instituted for the entire community. <br /> The Scout leader then updated the Council on her group's progress in <br /> securing a plaque which will designate the cemetery as an historical <br /> site reporting her contacts with 16 other service organizations for aid <br /> in financing such a plaque had resulted in only one donation from the <br /> DFL Club to date, although several organizations had offered help re- <br /> garding landscaping, etc. , on the site. <br /> Mayor Miedtke told her the Staff has not yet learned whether the City's <br /> application through Community Development Grant for funding of the <br /> plaque had been approved. Councilman Stauffer then suggested that as a <br /> fund raiser the Scouts might be interested in completing the street <br /> number identification project taken on the by American Field Society <br /> for a section of the City. <br /> March 29th was verified as the date on which the honorary citizenship <br /> will be granted to the City 's AFS student, Emilio Garcia of Spain. <br /> • Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to <br /> indicate support of the League of Minnesota Cities ' efforts to amend <br /> the State Bingo Law. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Stauffer and seconded by Mayor Miedtke to direct <br /> the City ' s legal consultant, John Drawz, to precede with the reas- <br /> sessment of all parcels of City land in Ramsey County on which assess- <br /> ments are not carried by the Ramsey County Auditor and Treasurer in <br /> the manner he had suggested in his February 28 , 1977 letter to the <br /> Council. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> It is the consensus of the Council that any leasing of the unused old <br /> City Hall should be accomplished only with limited parking, a flexible <br /> leasing arrangement and very little remodeling. <br /> Plans were made for attendance at the annual League of Minnesota Cities ' <br /> Conference to be held in Rochester in June. <br /> The March 4th updating regarding North Memorial Medical services to <br /> the City was considered and the possibility of having an advisory group <br /> • <br /> (4) <br />
