There will be further staff study of how other
communities of similar density have handled similar projects . The
Council followed the Board recommendations in the following:
Motion by Council Sauer and seconded by Councilman Sundland to adopt
the resolution which approves the final platting of Hansen' s Silver
Lake Addition.
RESOLUTION 79-027
A RESOLUTION APPROVING HANSEN' S
SILVER LAKE ADDITION PLAT
Motion carried unanimously.
The Board' s reaction to the Capital Expenditure Program for School
District #282 was then reported by Mr. Jones. Councilman Sauer
told of organizations who have approached the school district re-
garding the purchase of the Silver Oak elementary building saying
it is anticipated the sale will at least offset- the indebtedness
of the building. He also reported it had been projected that all
district students from Kindergarten through Grade Twelve can be
housed in the high school building by 1982 .
• At the conclusion of the Board report, Mr. Jones told of the success
of the St. Anthony Biennial Ball which had netted the school band
$500 . The advantages of making the event an annual one were ex-
plored and the Mayor suggested tickets be sold on a block basis so
more groups might be involved. Later in the evening the Manager
was requested to prepare for the Mayor' s signature a thank you
letter to the dance committee on behalf of the Council .
The March 5 , 1979 minutes of the Chemical Abuse Information Committee
meeting with the District #282 Health Council and other community
representatives , as well as the agenda for the Committee' s April
24 , 1979 meeting, were ordered filed.
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Letourneau
to adopt the resolution which approves the transfer of $8 , 000 for
Well No. 3 repairs.
RESOLUTION 79-025
A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDS
FOR WELL NO. 3 REPAIRS
Motion carried unanimously.
The Mayor announced the formal planting of trees which have been
donated to the City by its two garden and 4-H clubs .
•
