v -2-
Motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Ranallo to
adopt Resolution 79-028 .
• RESOLUTION 79-028
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE LABOR AGREEMENT WITH LOCAL 17
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Sauer to
adopt the resolution approving the labor agreement with Local 792 ,
representing the clerks unit, subject to ratification by the member-
ship.
RESOLUTION 79-029
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE LABOR AGREEMENT WITH LOCAL 792
Motion carried unanimously.
The Council had been provided with documents confirming the settlement
of the special assessment litigation for several Ramsey County pro-
perties . Councilman Sundland said he thought the settlement, whereby
the City will receive 57 percent of the original principal amount of
the assessments, indicated the Council had acted wisely in pursuing
the legal action through its special council , Charles LeFevere .
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Ranallo to
approve Resolution 79-030 .
RESOLUTION 79-030
A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING AND RATIFYING STIPULATIONS OF SETTLEMENT
IN CERTAIN SPECIAL ASSESSMENT APPEALS AND DIRECTING REASSESSMENTS
IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH.
Motion carried unanimously.
The May 8 letter from D. R. Koski, Director of Traffic Engineering
for the City of Minneapolis, indicated that city' s and Hennepin
County 's reaffirmation of participation with St . Anthony in the in-
stallation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Lowry Avenue
N.E. and Stinson Boulevard, and approximated the City ' s share of
the costs at $5 ,000 . The City ' s consulting engineer had foreseen
it might take one and one-half to three months to process an appli-
cation for MSA funding of the project. At a cost which he did not
see as cost effective for such a small amount, the Manager recommended
using Capital Expenditure funds instead. He said the City has many
other projects which will demand MSA funding and waiting for such
funding might delay or even jeopardize the project which had been
requested as a pedestrian safety measure for both students walking
to St. Charles Elementary School and customers of the St. Anthony
National Bank which will open in June.
•
