City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> March 27, 2001 <br /> Page 6 <br /> 1 Councilmember Sparks recommended the following changes be made to the Strategic Profile: <br /> 2 On Page 20, to delete "centralized environment" and substitute "what our City has to <br /> 3 offer." <br /> 4 On Page 31, to remove item #7 under the action steps and make "Review and revise if <br /> 5 necessary our code enforcement system" into its own objective under Goal #5, and add <br /> 6 action steps recommended by staff. <br /> 7 On Page 35, under Action Step #6 to read, "Increase the number of active volunteers. <br /> 8 Assess by comparing this years volunteer dinner invitation to next years list." <br /> 9 The Council agreed to make Councilmember Sparks' recommended changes. <br /> 10 Mornson reviewed the above City Goals, while listing their respective objectives. He noted that <br /> I 1 City Goals #1 and#2 have received the most attention from the residents, and will take up a large <br /> 12 portion of the Council's time. <br /> 13 Councilmember Sparks recommended adding an Action Step to Goal #7 to assess the City Hall <br /> 14 sound system and, if necessary, determine the cost to improve it. Mornson suggested that this be <br /> 15 placed under Goal #5, Objective#1. <br /> 0 Councilmember Sparks also asked if the shopping center green space should be added as an <br /> 17 Action Step under Goal #4. Momson responded that he did not see it necessary to add. <br /> 18 Councilmember Thuesen added that the decision of what to do with the green space is, <br /> 19 ultimately, out of the Council's control, and in the hands of the shopping center. <br /> 20 Mayor Cavanaugh asked if there were any questions, or comments from the Council at this time. <br /> 21 Motion by Sparks to adopt Resolution 01-052, re: Adopt Strategic Planning Report with the <br /> 22 above corrections. <br /> 23 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 24 X. REPORTS FROM COMMISSIONS AND STAFF. <br /> 25 None. <br /> 26 XI. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL,MEMBERS. <br /> 27 Mornson reviewed his report, which consisted of the following: <br /> 28 1. Joint meeting with the Planning Commission on Tuesday, April 17`h; 6:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. <br /> 29 2. Police Open House on May 16`h at 6:30 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. <br /> 30 3. Fire Department Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, April 291'' <br /> 31 4. First budget work session on May 8`h, or June 121H <br /> 5. Audit presentation on May 81h <br /> 33 6. Volunteer Dinner on April 27" <br /> 34 7. Meeting with school officials this week. <br />
