ENFORCEMENT <br /> Health and safety requirements are to be regarded as similar to other City rules and <br /> policies. Infractions shall be dealt with on an individual basis, consistent with the nature <br /> of the infraction, through normal personnel procedures. All City employees are expected <br /> to observe those rules which apply to them, and to exercise common sense in <br /> undertaking their responsibilities. <br /> At the conclusion of any Safety Committee review of a safety violation, a written notice of <br /> the committees findings and recommendations will be submitted to the employee in <br /> question as well as his/her supervisor. The supervisor shall review the information with <br /> the employee and make changes in department policy, take disciplinary action if <br /> necessary and/or implement the proper safety procedures to comply with City policy and <br /> OSHA standards. <br /> EMPLOYEE RIGHT-TO-KNOW <br /> Specific information on the proper handling and storage of speck gases, hazardous <br /> chemicals or other products used by the City should be obtained from the Material <br /> Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the specific product. <br /> These policies are intended as a general procedure and not intended to specifically <br /> address the handling and storage of each specific hazardous chemical and product used <br /> by the City. <br /> TRAINING/INSTRUCTION <br /> Each department shall be responsible for providing appropriate training and/or instruction <br /> to employees to provide the employee with the necessary knowledge to do the job safely <br /> and efficiently. <br /> Employees should request instruction or training for tasks and equipment of which they <br /> are unfamiliar. <br /> CITY OF ST.
