ss <br /> GENERAL EMPLOYEE SAFETY RULES <br /> STANDARD: All employees are required to: <br /> A. Wear hard hats on all jobs where there is a danger of being struck by • <br /> falling or moving objects, and in all designated areas. <br /> B. Wear eye protection that meets OSHA specifications when chipping, <br /> operating a jack hammer, drilling, grinding or whenever an eye injury hazard <br /> exists. <br /> C. Wear sturdy shoes which are in good repair. Safety shoes with steel toes <br /> are recommended for all persons working outdoors. <br /> D. Wear safety vests that meet OSHA specifications when working in hazard <br /> traffic areas. <br /> E. Use grounded or UL listed double-insulated electrical equipment and hand <br /> tools which are in good condition. <br /> F. Follow all prescribed safety procedures as issued by supervisors and the <br /> St. Anthony Safety Committee. <br /> G. Observe safety precautions and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor <br /> and/or Safety Committee. <br /> H. Understand the supervisor's instructions. If you do not know how to do the <br /> job safely, notify the supervisor. <br /> I. Report all Injuries and accidents Immediately to your supervisor. <br /> J. Keep alert. Avoid rushing personnel and equipment to save a little time. <br /> K To comply with the rules and regulations contained in the Safety Manual. <br /> L To act with care and consideration for himself/herself and others. <br /> M. Employee must use all safety equipment and protective clothing as • <br /> required. <br /> SEASONAL EMPLOYEES <br /> All safety procedures and policies apply to all Employees of the City, regardless of the <br /> number of hours worked. However, the following special considerations are highlighted <br /> for seasonal Employees. <br /> A. No seasonal Employee shall operate a City-owned motor vehicle without <br /> authorization from the appropriate Supervisor, who shall ensure the <br /> Employee has a valid drivers licenses proper for the equipment to be <br /> operated. <br /> B. All seasonal Employees are required to report to work in appropriate attire <br /> for the department in which they are employed. <br /> C. When applicable, seasonal Employees shall be provided instruction in the <br /> following areas: <br /> 1. Injury/accident reporting procedures. <br /> 2. Availability and usage of safety equipment. <br /> 3. Instruction on operation of equipment. <br /> 4. Awareness of City and department safety rules and regulations. <br /> CITY OF ST.
