MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT AND POWER TOOLS <br /> General: <br /> A. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided on machines <br /> to protect from hazards, created by nip points, point of operations, rotating <br /> parts and flying chips or sparks. (OSHA) <br /> B. Machine guards shall not be altered or removed except for repair. <br /> C. Machines shall not be left running unattended. <br /> D. Equipment shall be used only for jobs for which they are designed. <br /> E. Defective tools and equipment shall not be used. <br /> F. Defective motorized and electrical equipment shall be immediately tagged <br /> "out of order". (Out of order tags shall be readily available). <br /> G. Repair work on any motorized or electrical equipment shall be done only <br /> after machine has been "locked out" (made incapable of being started) and <br /> "do not operate" tag is near start mechanism. <br /> H. All electrical equipment shall be properly grounded. <br /> I. Electrical cords shall not be frayed or worn or present tripping hazards or <br /> be subjected to damage by traffic or machinery. <br /> J. Supervisors will be responsible for personnel training of the safe use of <br /> equipment or power tools they are operating. <br /> • CITY OF ST.
