MOWERS <br /> (Tractors, self-propelled and push type) <br /> A. Before leaving the shop, the operator shall inspect spark plug wire, the <br /> mower blades, gears, pulleys, etc. to determine their condition and report <br /> discrepancies to shop mechanic. <br /> B. Before operating such equipment, the employee shall also check to <br /> determine that the machine has the proper chain guards, that the gas tank <br /> is full and not leaking, and that wheels, handles and bolts are tight. Also, <br /> housing should be checked for cracks or loose mounting flanges. <br /> C. Area to be mowed shall be inspected for wire, sticks and miscellaneous <br /> objects which should be removed before mowing. <br /> D. Bystanders shall be warned by operator of danger of flying objects. <br /> E. Mowers shall not be left unattended with engine running. <br /> F. Loose fitting clothing shall not be worn while operating or working around <br /> such equipment. Shirts and full length slacks shall be worn while operating <br /> or working around all equipment. <br /> G. Operators shall wear proper foot protection. <br /> H. Proper eye protection shall be used. <br /> I. Mower shall be refueled only when engine is off. <br /> J. When loading or unloading such machinery, the employee shall disconnect <br /> the spark plug,wire. Gloves shall be worn while loading or unloading such <br /> equipment. <br /> CITY OF ST.
