It permits items to be brought before the committee in a more <br /> refined or developed form. It also allows a more flexible approach in responding to certain <br /> types of problems. <br /> The Chairperson of each subcommittee is responsible for keeping the St. Anthony <br /> Safety Committee and Safety Staff informed as to matters of concern. The Chairperson <br /> shall furnish a report on subcommittee activities at the beginning of each Regular Meeting <br /> of the St. Anthony Safety Committee. <br /> FUNCTIONS OF THE SUBCOMMITTEES <br /> There are presently four standing subcommittees of the St. Anthony Safety Committee. The <br /> following list shows some examples of the types of activities and responsibilities designated <br /> to these subcommittees. <br /> SUBCOMMITTEE ON POLICIES AND STANDARDS: <br /> Examines application of existing requirements to St. Anthony. Investigates <br /> problems or suspected problem areas where standards may be needed. <br /> Assists in developing new regulations and simplifying existing ones. Promotes <br /> employee knowledge of and understanding of standards/regulations. • <br /> SUBCOMMITTEE ON PROGRAMS/TRAINING: <br /> Seeks to develop ongoing series of relevant Safety-Health programs or training <br /> presentations for St. Anthony employees. Evaluate materials and program. <br /> Assist in scheduling. <br /> SUBCOMMITTEE ON ACCIDENT/INJURY REVIEW: <br /> Examine circumstances/events/actions and other contributing factors. <br /> Determine conformity to standards and regulations. Make recommendations. <br /> Develop corrective responses. Examine frequency/severity rates. <br /> SUBCOMMITTEE ON INSPECTIONS: <br /> Inspect selected work places. Potential hazard recognition. Conformity to <br /> standards. Record keeping. Enforcement of standards. <br /> iv <br />
