SAFETY POLICY
•
It is the policy of the City of St. Anthony that every employee is entitled to work under the
safest conditions possible. To this end, every reasonable effort will be made to promote
accident prevention, fire prevention, fire protection and health preservation.
It is our belief that accidents which injure people, damage machinery and destroy materials cause
needless personal suffering, inconvenience and expense.
We believe that practically all accidents can be prevented by taking common sense precautions.
The City will endeavor to maintain a safe and healthy work place. It will provide safe working
equipment, necessary personal protection and, in the case of injury, provide the best first aid and
medical service available.
Due to the large number of activities in progress at one time, the varied nature of the work and
the widespread location of such activities, we must "formalize" our safety program, utilizing
written reports and records, to achieve the maximum use and effectiveness of accident prevention
information.
A Safety Director, and a Safety Coordinator have been appointed by management, and will head
• the municipal safety program. The overall effectiveness of the safety program are their
responsibilities. Their duties include the overall direction and analysis of municipal safety
program operations and the communication of pertinent information to all departments.
City Manager Date
• CITY OF ST.
