City of St. Anthony <br /> Police Union Agreement <br /> Page 6 <br /> ARTICLE XI ATTENDANCE BONUS <br /> If, during any one (1 ) calendar year (1/1 - 12/31 ) of a given year, an employee does <br /> not use any sick leave, other than sick leave taken due to hospitalization on an "in- <br /> patient" basis under the care of a physician and any "at-home" recovery following the <br /> hospitalization, then that employee shall be entitled to an additional eight (8) hours of <br /> vacation time, over and above regularly earned vacation time, to be taken during the <br /> following year. This benefit is experimental and subject to EMPLOYER view of <br /> feasibility for continuance beyond this AGREEMENT. <br /> ARTICLE XII FUNERAL LEAVE <br /> In the event of the death of any employee's spouse, children, or parents or spouse's <br /> parents, the employee will be granted three (3) days of funeral leave with pay. In the <br /> event of the death of an employee's or his spouse's grandparents, brothers and sisters, <br /> • an employee will be granted one (1 ) day's funeral leave with pay. <br /> ARTICLE XIII LEAVE OF ABSENCE <br /> Employees subpoenaed as witnesses, or called and selected for jury duty shall receive <br /> their regular compensation less jury pay. Mileage allowance not to be considered as <br /> jury pay. <br /> Whenever any employee is delegated to attend conventions of labor which require his <br /> absence from work, the EMPLOYER agrees that such absence shall be allowed, <br /> provided there is not substantial work interference, and the EMPLOYER is able to make <br /> satisfactory arrangements. <br /> ARTICLE XIV SEVERANCE <br /> Severance pay in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of accumulated sick leave not to <br /> exceed a maximum of forty-five (45) days shall be paid to all employees leaving <br /> employment in good standing after three (3) years. This will commence for all new <br /> police officers hired after January 1 , 1996. Employees hired prior to January 1 , 1996, <br /> severance pay in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of accumulated sick leave, not to <br /> exceed a maximum of forty-five (45) days, shall be paid to all Employees leaving <br /> employment in good standing after one (1) year. <br />
