Planning Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> • May 15, 2001 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 1 hired, once the ordinance change process is underway. <br /> 2 Commissioner Tillmann would like for a designer to sketch the proposed sign on the proposed <br /> 3 Site with the landscaping around it, to eliminate any confusion of what the electronic sign might <br /> 4 look like. <br /> 5 Motion by Vice Chair Stille, second by Commissioner Tillmann, to recommend to the City <br /> 6 Council that a change be made in the city ordinance to allow for electronic signs, for public <br /> 7 information purposes only. <br /> 8 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 9 8.2 Update from Antenna Ordinance Subcommittee- Vice Chair Stille. <br /> 10 Tabled until next month. <br /> 11 IX. INFORMATION AND DISCUSSION. <br /> 12 9.1 Northwest Ouadrant Master Plan Update. <br /> 13 Ms. Henry stated that the next Planning/Steering Committee would be held May 31, 2001. She <br /> 0 indicated the meeting should be the last for the steering committee before action begins taking <br /> 15 place. <br /> 16 Commissioner Thomas indicated that he had reviewed the City Council minutes, and that it was <br /> 17 evident that the density issues are significant. He stated that density does not necessarily mean <br /> 18 high crime, and additional police calls. He added that, from an economic point of view, in order <br /> 19 for anything to work in that area, some density is necessary. <br /> 20 Ms. Henry added that, at the next Planning Commission meeting in June, the Master Plan for the <br /> 21 Northwest Quadrant would be presented for comment before it goes to the City Council. <br /> 22 X. ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br /> 23 Ms. Henry stated she had talked to the applicant for the Fuel Mart Car Wash that had come <br /> 24 before the Commission last summer, and he indicated that he was working on the improvements, <br /> 25 and that it should be completed in the next couple of weeks. <br /> 26 Ms. Henry provided the Planning Commission with an update on Walgreen's. She indicated that <br /> 27 no type of building permit would be released until the issue is resolved with the transmission <br /> 28 lines. She stated that there may be some relocation involved at Walgreen's cost. <br /> 29 Ms. Henry also stated that they reviewed the tow-truck ordinance, and it was decided that the <br /> 0 o language of the current ordinance provides enough information and guidelines, and would not be <br /> 1 changed at this time. <br />
