Planning Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> September 20,2005 <br /> Page 15 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Ms. Moore-Sykes stated that the City Council would review the Planning Commission minutes <br /> 3 noting that the concept review is usually done at the Planning Commission level. She stated that <br /> 4 it would be up to the Commission to decide if they want the concept review to be done at the <br /> 5 Council level. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Chair Stromgren stated that he would like to get a feel from the Council as to their thoughts on <br /> 8 this proposal noting that the proposal for housing is a good one. He stated that he would like <br /> 9 more clarification and answers to their questions. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Mr. Harriss stated that he would like to take the path of least resistance noting that the propose <br /> 12 general site plan and configuration of the building is the best design for the site. He stated that there is still information that the current <br /> 29 owner has to provide and the owner would have to provide them with an extension to get the <br /> 30 project done. <br /> 31 <br /> Commissioner Hoska noted that if they were to go through any of the first ring suburbs <br /> 32 <br /> 33 would see a lot of this kind underutilized properties adding that they are now trying revitalize <br /> 34 the first ring suburbs and make them a place people want to live. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Ms.Moore-Sykes indicated that they are also very close to the college campuses adding that <br /> 37 there is also a market for professionals and singles who want to be close enough to downtown yet <br /> 38 not in downtown area. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 IX. PUBLIC INPUT <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Glenn Gavik, 2605 Lowry Avenue Northeast, stated that he lives next door to the propose <br /> 43 project the Commission just discussed and expressed concerns that he did not hear from anyone <br /> 44 regarding this project. He stated that he is concerned that they are proposing to build a four-story <br /> 45 building next to his home and that it would affect his property value. <br /> I <br />
