CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT—2824 AND 2828 ANTHONY LANE S. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes presented the staff report and stated that she spoke with the <br /> 6 Fire Marshal earlier today and he advised that the building is mostly sprinklered, but some areas <br /> 7 where there are offices may need to have alarms installed. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Mr. Tom Baker, KW Commercial, appeared before the Planning Commission representing the <br /> 10 prospective buyer of the property. He stated that the property is being purchased to use as a <br /> 11 church and meeting hall and will be limited to 170 occupants. He noted that the University of <br /> 12 Minnesota will be displaced because the building will be used for religious purposes. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Commissioner Cincoski requested information regarding emergency exits. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Mr. Baker stated that this would be addressed at the time of building permit application. He <br /> 17 added that the building is sprinklered and some sprinkler heads may need to be relocated to meet <br /> 18 Code. He explained that they will have 75 parking stalls based on 170 occupants. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Chair Jensen requested that staff verify compliance with City Code with respect to parking <br /> 21 requirements. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Mr. Jeff Young, current owner of the property, requested that the record reflect the correct <br /> 24 address of the property as 2824 and 2828 Anthony Lane. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Commissioner Poucher asked if the change in use will change the property tax status for this <br /> 27 property. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Chair Jensen requested that staff clarify the property tax status for this property. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 2. 3219 STINSON BOULEVARD—GARAGE VARIANCE AND LOT COVERAGE <br /> 32 VARIANCE <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Assistant City Manager Moore-Sykes Kim presented the staff report. She discussed the site plan <br /> 35 found in the City's file containing the building inspector's earlier note regarding the property and <br /> 36 the notations from the previous owner of the property. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Ms. Rachel Sanzone, 3219 Stinson Boulevard, appeared before the Planning Commission and <br /> 39 stated that the goal is to rebuild the garage that existed when she purchased the property. She <br /> 40 noted that the play arbor shown on the site plan has been removed. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Chair Jensen stated that he would like to hear from the building official regarding the current <br /> 43 status of this property and the issues associated with the previous garage. He indicated if the <br /> 44 building permit was closed out, this matter exists outside the Planning Commission process. He <br /> 45 added there is not much for the Planning Commission to comment on at this stage with so much <br />
