Housing and Redevelopment Authority Meeting Minutes
June 25, 1996
40 Page 3
Motion by Enrooth, second by Ranallo to table consideration of Change Order #6 for the
Scoreboard in the amount of $6,061.00.
Motion carried unanimously.
D. _ No. 7 Storage addition - $59.026.00
Mayor Ranallo questioned why the Council had been told by the Architect that they had
to make a decision on the storage addition at the City Council meeting of April 23, 1996.
Mr. O'Brien stated the decision that evening was if the Architect should move forward to
the next step of preparing documents and obtaining a firm price of the storage area.
9 Morrison stated the motion made that evening approved a change order without the
10 paperwork not to exceed $49,100.00.
11 Mayor Ranallo noted Ms. Hermann had stated that the decision had to be made because
12 of the construction schedule.
13 Mike Cahill, Graus Construction, stated he had put pressure on Liz Hermann to obtain an
answer. Since then, he has scheduled everything around that area and omitted it. He
01 apologized if someone was misinformed or misled.
16 Mayor Ranallo asked the consequence of the storage addition not being approved this
17 evening. Mr. Cahill stated it did not matter. He noted the storage addition could even be
18 added after completion of construction.
19 Enrooth noted this figure was $10,000.00 more than was anticipated. He asked if there
20 was any negotiating. Mr. Cahill stated there was not.
21 Mike Peterson, Sports Boosters stated he had not had a chance to discuss this issue with
22 all the Boardmembers. Before making a commitment he would have to poll the other
23 Boardmembers. If this does go forward, the Sports Boosters would be unable to meet the
24 payment schedule previously discussed.
25 Mr. Cahill stated he needed a commitment as soon as possible. Construction has reached
26 a phase that the gym cannot be completed without the erection of that wall.
27 Mr. Peterson stated he could have a response by July 2, 1996. He proposed to commit to
28 a payment schedule of $15,000.00 on August 1, 1996, $25,000.00 on January 1, 1997 and
29 the remainder on or before December 1, 1997.
is Motion by Enrooth, second by Ranallo to approve Change Order #7 for the Storage
31 Addition in the amount of $59,026.00 contingent on the Sports Boosters approval of
32 payment of $40,000.00 in 1996 and $19,026.00 in 1997.
