Housing and Redevelopment Authority Meeting Minutes
November 26, 1996
•
Page 2
I VI. COMMUNITY CENTER/CITY HALL UPDATE.
2
3 A. Discuss Change Order Relating to Council Chambers Floor.
4 B. Discuss Change Order Relating to Sealer for Floor.
5 C. Discuss Date for Building Dedication.
6 D. Other Building Items.
7 Jim O'Brien, Will Associates, Inc., distributed a photograph of a fountain.
8 The fountain is 80" high with a 10" x 20" x 6" deep pool. The fountain is available in 16
9 ounce copper with a 3/8" diameter vertical frame for $3,500.00 and in 20 ounce copper
10 with V? diameter vertical frame for $4,050.00. These fountains are located in several
11 public places and have suffered no damage. Mr. O'Brien stated his opinion was that the
12 16 ounce copper version would serve the City of St. Anthony very well.
13 Wagner asked if a pool would have to be installed. Mr. O'Brien stated the fountain could
14 just be set on the floor with a form built around it.
15
16 Wagner asked if anything else would be on this wall. Mr. O'Brien stated the fountain
17 would be the focus but something else could be placed on the wall to the side.
0 Morrison noted the;Council had decided to wait until they were moved into the building
19 to determine what would best fit on this wall. Mr. O'Brien noted this is a self-contained
20 pool which could be purchased and installed after completion of construction.
21 Marks stated he was concerned and would like to see what the entryway looks like upon
22 completion before making a decision.
23 Enrooth noted the fountain was versatile and could be placed in another area if it is not
24 appropriate for the entryway.
25 Motion by Marks, second by Faust to purchase the 80" high with 10" x 20" x 6" deep
26 pool fountain, fabricated of 16 ounce copper with 3/8" diameter vertical frame in the
27 amount of $3,500.00.
28 Motion carried unanimously.
29 Mr. O'Brien explained a new manhole was necessary in the storm line northeast of the
30 building. Mr. O'Brien stated based on earlier conversation with Larry Hamer, he had
31 been under the impression that the City would be providing the manhole. It has been
32 determined the cover and casting will be provided by the City and installation will be
6 provided by the contractor.
