Claim
2 Chairperson Ranallo suggested this claim be addressed after the
3 Autumn Woods discussion.
4
5 6. DISCUSSION ON COMPLETION OF AUTUMN WOODS APARTMENTS
V
The Executive Director advised he received a statement from LaNel'
8 Financial Group requesting that their Letter of Credit be released.
10 The Executive Director requested the Public Works Director to compile
11 a punch list of all portions of the Autumn Woods project which need
12 to be completed before the Letter of Credit is released.
3
(14' Some of the uncompleted items on the punch list are as follows: surfacing
15 of the pathway between Autumn Woods and Northgate, sodding/seeding,
16 planting of trees and signed easements as requested.
17
18 The Executive Director noted that the proposed landscaping had been
19 omitted from the project's drawings therefore, was not done.
20
21 LaNel has indicated its willingness to seed using the "Hydro -seed"
22' method, but does not choose to plant trees. Commissioner Makowske
3 inquired if this method for seeding is effective. The Executive
24 Director responded that the possibility for seed growth is reliable
25 and the hay cover is very good for moisture retention. Commissioner
26 Makowske was of the opinion that since the name of the development
27 is "Autumn Woods" planting of trees should remain a requirement.
28
29 LaNel stated it prefers not to put a surface on the trail. The Public
30 Works Director had suggested wood chips could be used as a surface
31 and could be very attractive as well as less costly.
32
33 Commissioner Marks felt a wood chip surface would be very difficult to
34 maintain and was of the opinion that an asphalt surface should be
35 installed.
36
(37 Chairperson Ranallo requested that LaNel be advised that an asphalt
38 surface must be put on the pathway.
39
40 The Executive Director noted that the pathway maintenance would be the
41 responsibility of Northgate. He feels it will not be maintained unless
42 the City reminds Northgate to do this.
43
T4 1 Also in the letter received from Paul Brewer, President of LaNel Finan -
Si cial Group, was a request to share the costs of the incomplete portion
6 of this project with the City.
47
(4) The Executive Director assured the Commission that cost sharing would
49 not be a consideration and he would so indicate this to Mr. Brewer.
