City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
July 22, 2008
Page 4
Councilmember Stille stated he would like to thank the applicants in advance for serving on the
task force. Genuine, well thought, unbiased statements were provided for why the members
wanted to serve on the task force.

Motion carried unanimously.

Mayor Faust stated the purpose of the task force is to conduct research. The determination will
be based on what is best for the City in the long run. He expressed appreciation for the interest
by both the residents and the City Council.
t0
B. Quarterly Goals Update Mike Morrison, City Manager, presenting_

Mr. Morrison presented the Quarterly Goals Update. The Five Goals that the City is working on
over the next five years are as follows: 1) Environmental Stewardship; 2) Improve and Maintain
Infrastructure; 3) Technology Advances; 4) Maintain/Improve Housing Stock; 5) Senior
Transitions.

Councilmember Stille inquired about the status of the Silver Lake Road project, noting it is
planned to be 85% finished by November. He inquired about the number of trees that are
planned to be replanted as part of the project.

City Manager Mornson replied the project is on track and running smoothly. Approximately 278
trees are planned to be replanted with the project.

Councilmember Stille stated he has been receiving questions about the trees in relation to the
project. He pointed out with a project like this, final judgment cannot be made until it is
completed, and many trees will be replaced. He inquired how the process is working with
residents contacting the County for information on the project.

City Manager Mornson replied for the most part the County is doing a good job taking care of
the residents. The quickest way for residents to contact someone about the project is to talk to
County staff on site.

Mayor Faust noted there is contact information available on the City website and cable. In
addition, residents can contact City Hall for contact information.

Councilmember Thuesen inquired about the status of the Three Rivers Park District project.

City Manager Mornson replied he is not certain about the approximate date for completion; he
believes it is scheduled for June or July of 2009. Cooperation with the agency has been great and
things are moving on target.

Councilmember Roth expressed appreciation to Jay Hartman and Todd Hubmer for their efforts
in getting replacement sod for the residents on 27`h Avenue.

Motion carried unanimously.
