Resolution 08 -063; To Oppose the Grand Rounds Trail System Missing Link through the <br />City of St. Anthony Village as Proposed by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board <br />Mayor Faust stated at the September 9, 2008 City Council meeting there was discussion about <br />the recent Star Tribune article stating that the Grand Rounds Trail System would be going <br />through the City of St. Anthony. No one had spoken with the City of St. Anthony, and it <br />appeared the trail system would proceed with or without any input from them. He stated it is <br />ironic that the City of St. Anthony is an autonomous legal entity and authority would be needed <br />for anything to be done here. If nothing, it is more the courtesy of this position being discussed <br />with them. With that, Council directed staff to draft the proposed resolution. <br />Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Roth, to adopt Resolution 08- <br />063; To Oppose the Grand Rounds Trail System Missing Link through the City of St. Anthony <br />Village as Proposed by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. <br />Councilmember Gray recited Resolution 08 -063. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes reported on the following: <br />• Emerald Park tax abatement hearing is scheduled for October 14, 2008 at 7 p.m. <br />• Emerald Park open house is scheduled for October 27, 2008, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. <br />• September 15, 2008 Single Garbage Hauler Task Force meeting <br />• Upcoming Single Garbage Hauler Task Force meeting scheduled for October 20, 2008, <br />6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. <br />• December 15, 2008 is an available date for the alternate Truth in Taxation meeting. This <br />date was previously tentatively scheduled for December 23, 2008. <br />Mayor Faust noted the regular scheduled City Council meeting should be rescheduled to <br />December 15, 2008 if the Truth in Taxation meeting is held on this date. Typically the second <br />City Council meeting has not been held in December. <br />Consensus of the Council was to direct staff to schedule the alternate Truth in Taxation meeting <br />for December 15, 2008. <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to reschedule the regular <br />scheduled December 23, 2008 City Council meeting to December 15, 2008. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Stille reported on his attendance at the following events: <br />• September 15, 2008 Single Garbage Hauler Task Force meeting <br />• September 23, 2008 Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) <br />workshop held on the Mississippi River. <br />
