City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />June 12, 2007 <br />Page 2 <br />Councilmember Gray thanked Chief Ohl and the officers involved in the course for the fantastic <br />experience. He encouraged everyone to take advantage of this opportunity. He stressed that <br />participating in this class provides one with a different view of what it is like to be a police <br />officer. <br />6 Mayor Faust commented he sees the breadth and depth of experience of the class participants, <br />7 along with the age variation. He stated their commitment reminds him of the great community <br />8 we live in. He commented that St. Anthony is the little engine that could and does. He thanked <br />9 the graduates for their interest and dedication. <br />10 <br />11 III. CONSENT AGENDA <br />12 <br />13 A. Resolution 07 -045: Appointing Councilmember Gray to the School Long Term Facility <br />20 Planning Committee <br />21 <br />22 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Thuesen, to approve the Consent <br />23 Agenda as presented. <br />24 <br />25 Motion carried unanimously 4/0. <br />26 <br />27 IV. PUBLIC HEARINGS. <br />28 <br />29 A. Resolution 07 -046: Approving the Transfer of the Intoxicating Liquor License for St. <br />30 Anthony Restaurant Group, Inc., dba The Village Pub, located at 2729 Highway 88. <br />31 <br />32 Mayor Faust opened the public hearing at 7:15 p.m. <br />33 <br />34 City Manager Mornson reported this resolution approves the transfer of the intoxicating liquor <br />35 license for the Village Pub. He stated a public hearing for such transfer is not required; however, <br />36 the City chose to hold one. He commented that the St. Anthony Police Department conducted a <br />37 background check on the officers of the corporation and found no items of concern. City <br />38 Manager Momson explained that once the liquor license was approved, Staff would send the <br />39 information to the State of Minnesota for review. <br />40 <br />41 Mr. Robert Foster and Mr. Cory Burstad, co- applicants, explained the changes being made at the <br />42 Village Pub. Mr. Foster passed out a sample of the new menu that would begin June 13, 2007. <br />43 He stated a new management team and chef have been hired. Mr. Foster explained the goal of <br />44 the Village Pub is to improve service to the customer. He stress that the Village Pub would <br />45 strive to be a good corporate citizen in St. Anthony.
