City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />June 12, 2007 <br />Page 6 <br />City Manager Morrison reported Staff applied for two grants through Transit for Livable <br />Communities for sidewalks along Stinson and Silver Lake Road. He stated St. Anthony was not <br />awarded the grants; however, there are more rounds of funding and Staff would continue to <br />apply- <br />7 City Manager stated Police Chief Ohl mentioned the Police Department applied for three grants <br />8 and were funded for two. He reported the Safe and Sober Grant for $12,000 and the Ace Grant <br />9 for $5,000 would be used to reimburse the police overtime pay for these programs. He reported <br />10 a Safe and Sober Contract would be entered into at the next Council Meeting. <br />11 <br />12 City Manager Morrison mentioned the website could now be used to report street light outages to <br />13 Xcel Energy. <br />14 <br />15 City Manager Morrison stated Julianne Hunter has requested update to Council on Village Fest <br />16 activities. <br />17 <br />18 City Manager Mornson reported that Kay Andrews from Northwest Youth and Families would <br />19 present an update to Council at the next meeting. <br />20 <br />21 City Manager Morrison reported that Mr. Bill Weber, consultant on the comprehensive plan <br />22 would present an updated comprehensive plan to the Planning Commission on July 17, 2007 and <br />23 to the City Council on July 24, 2007. He stated the six -month review process was completed by <br />24 the surrounding cities, agencies, and Met Council. <br />25 <br />26 City Manager Morrison reported Mr. Hubmer would report on the Comprehensive Water <br />27 Resource Management Plan at the July 24, 2007 Council meeting. He mentioned this is required <br />28 by state law and the comprehensive plan. <br />29 <br />30 City Manager Morrison reported the population report was received from the Met Council. He <br />31 stated St. Anthony's population has increased as of April 2006 to 8,36 1. He stated that of that <br />32 total, 5,291 are in Hennepin County and 2,340 are in Ramsey County. <br />33 <br />34 Councilmember Gray reported that on June 7, 2007 he attended the North Suburban <br />35 Communications Commission and the North Suburban Access Corporation. He stated the <br />36 highlight of the meeting was the distribution of ten scholarships amounting to $40,000 awarded <br />37 to ten residents of the ten communities represented on the Commission. He commented Nick <br />38 Bennett received the award for St. Anthony. <br />39 <br />40 Mayor Faust reported the Council met with the School Board on May 29, 2007. He stated this is <br />41 done quarterly to exchange information. <br />42 <br />43 Mayor Faust reported that on May 31, 2007 Council and the City Department heads conducted a <br />44 mid year strategic review, toured the City, and looked at the five goals to see where the City is <br />45 on each. <br />46 <br />
