Department Divisions <br />The Public Works Department is divided into six (6) divisions: Streets, Parks, Water/Sewer, Vehicle <br />Maintenance, Engineering and City Buildings <br />STREET DIVISION <br />The Street Division is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the City’s street network. They are <br />responsible for snow and ice control in the winter months, as well as road maintenance repairs and street <br />sweeping during the summer months. <br />The Public Works Department also completed an annual Boulevard Tree Trimming Program. <br />In 2014, the Street Division conducted six (6) street sweepings Citywide. <br />100,000 square yards of crack fi lling materials on both blacktop and concrete roadways <br />50,000 square yards of chip sealing as part of an annual program <br />PARKS DIVISION <br />The City Parks Division maintains a <br />total of 5 primary parks (Emerald, <br />Central, Tower, Silver Point, and <br />Trillium). The Parks Division is also <br />responsible for the maintenance of the <br />storm water retention ponds, ditch lines <br />and City owned properties. <br />Another aspect of the Parks Division is <br />to maintain the City’s ice skating rinks. <br />The ice skating rinks were open for 65 <br />days in the 2013-2014 skating season. <br />The total attendance on the ice skating <br />rinks in 2013-2014 was 2632. <br /> · Emerald – 1,031 <br /> · Central - 836 <br /> · Silver Point – 765 <br />In the 2013/2014 winter <br />season, there were 18 snow/ice <br />events and 9 citywide plowing <br />events. During those times, the <br />following quantities of products <br />were used during those events. <br /> · Salt usage – 275 tons <br />2013-2014 <br /> · Salt brine – 2,425 gallons <br />2013- 2014 <br /> · Salt/Sand mix - 30 tons
