What are the roles and responsibilities of staff <br />members in regards to safety in the City? <br />Department Heads - <br />Ensure that all employees are properly trained for the work in which <br />they are assigned, and that all employees are made available for <br />training. <br />Ensure that each employee adheres to proper work procedures and <br />rules and to provide disciplinary action when necessary. <br />Respond appropriately to all employee hazard reports, safety <br />suggestions, accident reports, questions and concerns, as they relate to <br />safety. <br />Provide visible, sincere support for all safety programs and Health and <br />Safety Program activities and will lead by example in matters related to <br />the Health and Safety Program. <br />Works with, coaches and supports the employees to ensure they are <br />aware of and fulfilling their responsibilities. <br />Ensures that the employees are knowledgeable about the Health and <br />Safety Program, as it relates to the employees' area of work. <br />What are the roles and responsibilities of staff <br />members in regards to safety in the City? <br />Employees- <br />• Attend and participate in all required training and meetings. <br />• Be knowledgeable about the hazards present at work and follow <br />all proper safety procedures. <br />• Use appropriate equipment and follow established procedures. <br />• Report all work - related injuries and illnesses immediately to <br />their immediate supervisor. <br />• When employees have suggestions related to a program and /or <br />safety in general, they will report them to the department head, <br />supervisor and /or safety coordinator. <br />• Employees are required to report all Health and Safety hazards <br />to department heads and /or supervisors.
