9/20/2013 <br />What are the goals of the 2013 Safety <br />Committee? <br />• Comply with all safety rules and standards required by <br />OSHA. <br />• Ensure that all departments are represented at the Safety <br />Committee meetings (committee member or alternate). <br />• Safety Committee members will review all First Report of <br />Injuries submitted and if necessary recommend changes to <br />departments. <br />• Ensure that walk through inspections (mock OSHA <br />inspections) of City Hall, Public Works, Police <br />Department, Fire Department, well houses and <br />neighborhood centers are conducted annually by the <br />responsible department and Integrated Loss Control (City's <br />safety consultant). <br />What are the goals of the 2013 Safety <br />Committee - Continued <br />• Work to reduce the number of sprain and strain injuries by io% <br />in the City of St. Anthony by educating and making employees <br />aware of the seriousness of these types of injuries. <br />• Research and evaluate the potential use of mechanical <br />Fquipment to minimize the risk of sprains and strains type <br />injuries for employees. <br />• Work with the City's insurance Provider to conduct an analysis of <br />the City's five year work related injuries and trends. <br />• Continue to monitor and maintain the City of St. Anthony's <br />Insurance Experience Mode rate at .08 rating or lower to stabilize <br />the City's insurance rates. <br />• Evaluate different training mechanisms and resources (both <br />internally and externally) that can be used to improve the safety <br />training programs offered by the City. <br />
