2016 Annual Report • Public Works Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT PROJECTS <br />Throughout the year, the Public Works Department, which included Engineering, aids in <br />numerous projects across the community. In 2016, the Public Works Department completed the <br />following projects: <br /> Citywide Building Maintenance <br /> Annual Branch Chipping Program <br /> Annual Chip Sealing Program <br /> 2016 Capital Equipment Purchases <br /> Annual Employee Training to include: <br />First Aid and CPR, Personal Protective Equipment, Hazard Communication, Trenching <br />& Excavation Safety and Hearing Loss Conservation. <br />ENGINEERING DIVISION <br />The City of St. Anthony utilizes WSB & Associates, Inc. for engineering <br />and consulting services on many of the city’s construction and <br />improvement projects. Engineering activities in a typical year include: street and utility <br />reconstruction; stormwater quality and flood improvements; chip sealing of roadways; and <br />other infrastructure related improvements. In 2016 the city completed a number of these <br />infrastructure projects including: <br /> <br />III. Stormwater Quality Improvements <br />The city has several resources that have been listed as impaired by the Minnesota Pollution <br />Control Agency. The city is required to reduce the contribution of pollutants from the city that <br />is discharged to these resources, which include: Silver Lake, Long Lake and the Mississippi <br />River. The subsequent pages detail projects were completed and in operation for 2016. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
