2017 Annual Report • Fire Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

35 | Page

The review of our hazard mitigation plan for Hennepin County was performed to make sure
that our projects that had been identified were indeed moving forward as planned or kept on
the radar when funding was available. One of the main areas of focus has been the flood
mitigation projects that the City of St. Anthony has been working on. Mirror Lake is one project
that when completed should nearly eliminate any flooding that has taken place in the past for
those residents in that area.
Our operations plan for the city was reviewed and updated as well. This is something that is
looked at by the North Suburban Emergency Managers Group annually to make sure contact
info, protocols and procedures continue to make sense. The operations plan is one that is a
general operating plan and tries to not use too many specifics but rather guidelines in order to
allow for decisions to be made pertaining to current conditions.
Continuing education took place with Fire Chief/Emergency Manager Mark Sitarz heading up
to Camp Ripley for a 4 day training on ICS All-Hazards Planning Section Chief.
