2018 Annual Report • Police Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br />28 | P a g e <br /> <br />Every year in June SAPD hosts a “Summer Survival” camp for <br />kids. This a two day event for school aged children in which <br />they are presented with <br />different demonstrations <br />from police, Fire, and EMS <br />organizations. We showcase <br />Police K-9s, water patrol boats, fire <br />trucks, teach safety skills, weather safety, drug/alcohol and tobacco education and prevention, <br />and we even get a visit from the State Patrol helicopter. It’s a fun-filled two days packed with <br />activities. <br />July: Officers attended the 50th Anniversary of Cub Foods. The <br />event was held in the parking lot, where Lt. Diegnau and Officer <br />Schlingman met with visitors, answered questions and gave tours of <br />SAPD squad cars. <br /> <br />Detective Briski and Sgt. Huddle attended a lunch event to honor <br />veterans at Chandler Place, 3701 Chandler Dr. The event included a motorcycle "show". <br />Officers from SAPD joined with Minneapolis PD mounted patrol, U of M PD motorcycle unit <br />and St. Paul PD motorcycle unit for the event. <br /> <br />Officer Schlingman spoke with pre-school age children at <br />Nativity church Child Care about child safety. A squad tour was <br />included and stickers were given out to the kids. <br />
