2018 Annual Report • Police Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

29 | P a g e

August: Chief Mangseth and the entire SAPD sworn staff attended block parties all over St.
Anthony for MN Night To Unite on August 7th. Police Officers, Mayor Faust, City Council
members, City department heads and staff visited as many block parties as possible discussing
any and all topics of conversation
with residents and visitors to St.
Anthony. MN Night To Unite is an
outstanding community event that
really does take the involvement of
the entire community to be
successful. We’re grateful to all that
could be part of it in 2018!

SAPD staffed a table at VillageFest this year. We had Officers available to speak with the public,
copies of our Strategic Plan available for review and discussion, squad cars on display, and
SAPD items for give away. We also had a squad car in the VillageFest Parade.

September: SAPD partnered with Culvers for our first Custard With A
Cop event. Chief Mangseth, Captain Spiess, Officers South, Sunde and
Lazenberry served custard to community members who stopped in to
visit with them and talk about any topic they were concerned about, ask
questions, or offer suggestions.

Officer South participated in a 9/11 memorial and veterans recognition
ceremony hosted by the St. Anthony Girls Soccer Team before a home
game on September 11th.

Officer Lazenberry attended a Cub Scout open house at Faith United
Church. Squad car tours and stickers were given away.
