2018 Annual Report • Police Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

30 | P a g e

October: SAPD partnered with Cub Foods to host our annual
Coffee With A Cop event. Officer Lazenberry and Sgt. Huddle
served coffee and treats to community members who stopped
by to visit with us. Topics included citizen safety concerns,
quality of life concerns (citizens specified loud vehicle exhaust
noise), and police-citizen relations. Interactions were positive.

Lt. Diegnau got involved with Trunk Or Treat at Nativity Lutheran
Church on 10/28/2018. He handed out badge stickers and gave squad
car tours to trick-or-treaters.

November: Chief Mangseth, Lt. Diegnau, Officer Johnson, Officer Gerbino and CSO Milbrandt
took part in the Veterans Day program at Chandler Place. The event honors veterans living at
the senior living facility. SAPD also honored two military veterans of our own (Officer Dan
Johnson – US Marine Corps, and CSO Mike Milbrandt – US Army) that attended, for their
military service.
Chief Mangseth and Captain Spiess attended the
"Students in Government" event hosted at St. Anthony
City Hall. High school students were given tours of
the police, fire, public works, and other city facilities.
They also participated in a mock city council meeting,
followed by meetings with the city council and
mayor, and a dinner.
Captain Spiess staffed a table at the Sustainability Fair
at St. Anthony City Hall. The Captain interacted with attendees, and provided literature on
crime prevention, the department's mission, vision, and strategic plan, along with topics on
mental health and safe driving.
