2018 Annual Report • Finance Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

17

FEDERAL SINGLE AUDIT COMPLETED IN 2018
A special audit is required whenever a local government receives over $750,000 in Federal funds
in any given year (commonly referred to as a Single Audit). In 2017 the City of Saint Anthony
received $780,714 in Federal Funds. The vast majority of these funds were from the Highway
Safety Improvement Program grant. This grant was used for the construction of a sidewalk along
the south side of 37th Avenue, along with pedestrian safety improvements at various
intersections. The Single Audit process took place in 2018 and was unique in that it tests the
City’s compliance with numerous Federal requirements along with transactions. The Audit
report submitted also has very prescribed reporting forms required. The City received an
unmodified opinion (or clean opinion) associated with its Single audit.
