Based on the results of the bids received and the <br />2 current bidding climate, City Staff recommends that the City Council reject all bids and <br />3 authorize rebidding of the project that will include a more flexible project completion date. The <br />4 project will be rebid on June 19, 2019. <br />5 <br />6 Councilmember Stille asked if this is an example of typical bids and Mr. Messner stated when <br />7 there is a low number of bids it may be the contractors are busy but offers a high bid to see if it is <br />8 accepted. <br />9 <br />10 Councilmember Jenson asked if the new bids that come in are still quite high is there a <br />11 contingency plan. Mr. Messner stated there would be a discussion at the staff level. <br />12 <br />13 Mayor Faust stated could this project be done later in the year without any adverse effects. Mr. <br />14 Messner agreed. <br />15 <br />16 City Manager Casey stated the bid specs will specify completion within a certain number of <br />17 days. There will be a timeframe for the construction. Mr. Messner stated it would be 60 days. <br />18 <br />19 Motion by Councilmember Gay, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve Resolution 19- <br />20 047; a Resolution to Reject All Bids Received and Ordering Advertisement for Rebids for the <br />21 Industrial Park Flood Improvement Project. <br />22 <br />23 Motion carried 4-0. <br />24 <br />25 Mr. Messner provided an update on the projects currently being done within the City including <br />26 the Silver Lake Road Storm Sewer Project, 2018 Street Reconstruction Project, and the County <br />27 Road C Project. <br />28 <br />29 Mayor Faust stated the hours for the County Road C project were extended for work on the <br />30 project. <br />31 <br />32 Councilmember Stille referred to Silver Lake Road and there being two-way traffic. Mr. Messner <br />33 stated that would be two-way traffic in two lanes. <br />34 <br />35 C. Ordinance 2019 -06; an Ordinance Amending Chapter 112 Alcoholic Beverages. <br />36 <br />37 Mr. Casey summarized the proposed amendments to Chapter 112 Alcoholic Beverages, section <br />38 112.09 Places Ineligible for a License are presented for Council consideration. National Grill is <br />39 providing food and beverage service at the clubhouse for Gross Golf Course. Staff has not <br />40 received any calls or letters from the first reading. Staff recommends waiving the second reading <br />41 and move to final reading and adoption. <br />42 <br />43 Councilmember Gray asked if a similar request has ever been made and Mr. Casey stated he <br />44 does not recall. <br />45 <br />
