He noted typically you wait until you have a contract and a building permit, but the <br />5 contractor had already started the process. <br />6 <br />7 Chair Jindra asked what was his opinion that they added additional costs to the contract and was <br />8 he happy with the contractor. Mr. Forbrook replied they were doing what they could under the <br />9 circumstances and Central Park was saddled with a tough situation. He stated this firm was less <br />10 experienced than other firms, but they were doing the best they could. <br />11 <br />12 Mr. Hartman asked how much was the increased price. Chair Jindra replied it was $50,000.00. <br />13 <br />14 Mr. Forbrook replied they might have been estimated including the retaining wall. <br />15 <br />16 Vice Chair Koehntop stated he understood that the best time this year to obtain bids was now and <br />17 he did not understand why the bid had increased. Mr. Forbrook replied he expected any <br />18 contractor to increase their bid and noted the contract had expired. <br />19 <br />2 Vice Chair Koehntop stated he understood the contract had expired, but he did not believe this <br />21 was a good working relationship. <br />22 <br />23 Chair Jindra stated there was a time crunch to get this done. <br />24 <br />25 Mr. Forbrook indicated the building should be completed in three or four months and next spring <br />26 there would be some site work and sidewalks added. <br />27 <br />28 Chair Jindra noted that they had taken a tour of Central Park and there were a number of issues <br />29 that needed to be addressed. <br />30 <br />31 Chair Jindra invited Augie Wong, BRW, to update the Commission. Mr. Wong reported that <br />32 because of the weather and rain it was not helping out the situation at Central Park. He stated <br />33 there would be a lot of catch up work in the spring, unless it stopped raining. He noted even <br />34 when it stopped raining, it would take three or four days before the large machinery could get in <br />35 there and work. <br />36 <br />37 Commissioner Jensen asked if a lot of the erosion problems would be addressed until spring. <br />38 Mr. Wong replied if they had two weeks of dry weather they could do some of the work, but <br />39 most of it would need to wait until spring next year. <br />40 <br />41 Chair Jindra stated she had a meeting last week with Mr. Wong and others and noted that they <br />41 indicated the fields would not be playable next year. Mr. Wong replied that was correct. He <br />43 indicated if they had nice weather, the fields might be ready, but because of the wet weather this <br />44 fall, the fields would not be able to be used extensively.
