recently pulling all flavored products off the shelf and she would suggest that there be an 1 <br />amendment to restrict all flavored to adult only stores. Minneapolis and St. Paul have this, 2 <br />Lauderdale, Falcon Heights also have this. This would pull all flavored products out of stores 3 <br />that high school students frequent. She noted she brought this up at the very first reading, 4 <br />September 24th, and did not know that she should have taken more of an active role in between 5 <br />the readings. She was glad the City Council did this but was not sure why this did not include 6 <br />flavored products as well. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Faust explained the City was trying to get the vaping and cigarette smoking to age 21. 9 <br />Once it gets to 21, if someone wants to damage themselves that is their prerogative. He thought 10 <br />this should be a State issue and not dealt with at the city level. He thought the City exercised its 11 <br />power effectively and thoughtfully and the goal is to keep it out of the high school kids’ hands. 12 <br /> 13 <br />I. Resolution 19-079; a Resolution Designating the Star Tribune the Legal Newspaper for 24 <br />the City of St. Anthony Village for the Calendar Year 2019. 25 <br /> 26 <br />City Manager Casey reviewed the resolution with the Council and indicated that staff is 27 <br />recommending designating the Star Tribune for the remainder of 2019 and reevaluate options for 28 <br />2020. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Councilmember Stille asked if the publication Finance and Commerce would be a publication 31 <br />the City could use. City Manager Casey explained the State Statute regarding this item. He 32 <br />indicated this will give the Council time to evaluate the possibilities before the beginning of next 33 <br />year for the official newspaper. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Mayor Faust thought it is the only way the City can continue to be transparent with the public 36 <br />even thought the Star Tribune will be more expensive.
