2019 Annual Report • Administration • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota

45

Computer Replacements
Microsoft determined that support for the Windows 7 operating system to
ended on January 14, 2020. This means that Microsoft will no longer offer
security enhancement for vulnerabilities discovered after that date. As a
result, all computers had to be upgraded or replaced before that date. Given
the time it would take to upgrade the operating system software and
reinstall other needed software, replacing the computers was a more
economical approach. Also, virtually all of the city computers will have
reached the end of their expected 5-year life cycle by the end of 2019.
With the help of Roseville IT, all computers in the in the Public Works and
the Liquor Operations Departments were replaced, completing three year
city-wide project.

Security Cameras at Central Park Pavilion
In collaboration with Fire Department and Roseville IT staff, upgraded security cameras were
installed at the Central Park Pavilion. This brought those cameras into the city-wide camera
system, and allows Fire Department staff to monitor the pavilion at the Fire Station. Also, WiFi
access for those renting the pavailion was added at the same time.
