They have even had to <br />contact the city when the car wash management did not take action, this was confirmed by the New <br />Hope Development Department. The Development Department also told me that the increase in traffic <br />on Bass Lake Road going into the car wash, on busy days, exceeds what the city allows on that stretch <br />of road. <br /> <br />The 2017 New Hope council records and the records of the New Hope Planning committee meetings <br />during their car wash proposals initial hearings are easily familiar to those currently happening in our <br />city. During those meetings the builders assured everyone that noise would not be an issue, but they <br />were only measuring the sounds of their machines, not how they will be used. Those assurances from <br />the builder are what the New Hope council used as reason to pass the proposal. Let us not be fooled by <br />the same rhetoric, we now know the true impact this car wash will bring. Lets learn from what New Hope <br />is going through and not repeat it here in St. Anthony Village. <br /> <br />The noise and pollution that will come for this car wash is no longer unknown, it is known, it has already <br />happened, and this is not written out of fear, but out of knowledge. Let me say that I trust that on paper <br />everything in the proposal meets the minimum standards of both state law and city code, but when we <br />look at the real world applications of this proposal it falls far short of what St Anthony should want for its <br />future. <br /> <br />Please oppose this proposal, and let come together as a community to find a development that meets <br />everyone’s needs. <br /> <br /> <br />Dave Colling <br />2708 27th Ave NE <br />St Anthony Village 55418 <br /> <br /> <br />P.S. <br /> <br />In summary: <br /> <br />●Tommy's Express Car Wash in New Hope is a model for what the Kenzie Terrace Car wash <br />proposal will be. <br />●The Neighbors of the New Hope car wash have identified several issues over the last year: <br />○The customers using the vacuums are playing radios loud enough to hear inside homes <br />in the neighborhood. <br />○Customers using the vacuums talking to each other speak at very loud volumes to be <br />heard over the vacuums, carrying through the neighborhood. <br />○Trash collects in the residential areas that blows from the vacuum area of the car wash. <br />○Neighbors have to contact the car wash constantly for the noise coming from the vacuum <br />area. <br />○Traffic going into the car wash during busy times exceeds city code. <br />●These are all issues likely to come to St. Anthony if this proposal is allowed to be built. <br />212
