Parks and Environmental Commission Regular Meeting Minutes <br />March 6, 2023 <br />Page 4 <br />1 <br />2 December 4, 2023 - TBD <br />3 <br />4 The following work-sessions/agenda items to be scheduled as Climate Action process unfolds <br />5 include: <br />6 Create Energy and Climate Action Plans <br />7 Explore expansion of solar installation on Central Park Pavilion rooftop. <br />8 Joint meeting with the City Council and Planning Commission. <br />9 <br />10 Ongoing throughout 2023: <br />11 Continue education and outreach in conjunction with community organizations to <br />12 promote sustainability. <br />13 Continue collaborations to enhance City green space, including parks cleanup and <br />14 pollinator plantings. <br />15 Support City’s efforts to establish partnership to being electric vehicle charging <br />16 stations to public areas. <br />17 <br />18 The Commission was asked if any changes should be made to the schedule. A copy of the <br />19 approved 2023 Work Plan for the St. Anthony Village Parks and Environmental Commission <br />20 was included for Commission review. <br />21 <br />22 Commissioner Doolan stated she received some information from the Met Council on solar <br />23 funding for cities. She will pass the information onto Mr. Yunker and Mr. Gumke. <br />24 <br />25 Chair Bordeau will schedule the park walk-through in May. Commissioner Doolan suggested <br />26 the packet from WSB be brought along to the walk-through. Chair Bordeau asked if there <br />27 was anything the Commissioners should look at specifically and Mr. Lindberg stated the WSB <br />28 was very inclusive. <br />29 <br />30 Commissioner Holliday asked about the solar installation in Central Park. Mr. Yunker <br />31 provided a brief response. <br />32 <br />B.33 No Mow May Discussion. <br />34 <br />35 Chair Bordeau stated a request has been made to bring a resolution to the City Council. Mr. <br />36 Yunker stated the enforcement to the Code is by dropping off educational information. The <br />37 Council would be requested to offer an official endorsement of No Mo May. Commissioner <br />38 Holliday stated a clear message needs to be communicated to the residents. Commissioner <br />39 Doolan stated she feels it is important to have signage. Commissioner Doolan shared some <br />40 information on what Edina did and the response. Commissioner Fee stated the communication <br />41 and education parts are necessary and signage is important. Commissioner Holliday stated he <br />42 is concerned about the time needed to put together signs. Commissioner Doolan stated New <br />43 Brighton printed 250-yard signs and they ran out. Commissioner Doolan had sample <br />44 resolutions from Columbia Heights and Edina. This will be added to the March 14 City <br />45 Council Meeting agenda. Commissioner Holliday will draft a resolution for City Council <br />46 consideration and will attend the City Council Meeting on March 14.
