How are we supporting families as they switch to full electric vehicles? <br />Energy efficient buildings, renewable energy sources, Optimizing Waste Operations, plant more trees <br />—support /subsidize homeowners with this, community gardens, bring back a robust farmers market <br />at a convenient time for more shoppers. <br />Do better at recycling <br />Air Quality <br />Install public EV charging spots <br />none <br />Tree assistance. Drought has caused our decades old Oak tree to die and it costs thousands of <br />dollars to remove. People with limited income will not prioritize tree removal which will then create <br />fire hazards for our community. There should be grant assistance in the community for people to <br />apply for because tree removal is for the common good. Electric assistance for people to switch to <br />electric lawn equipment . There might need to be a city law the gas powered equipment is not <br />allowed. Easily accessible electric charging stations or assistance for installation of home charging <br />stations. Solar installation assistance to make it an attractive and economical choice for the <br />community. Better walking and biking paths in South Saint Anthony - there is no bike lane on Saint <br />Anthony Boulevard, there are no sidewalks other than on Saint Anthony Boulevard. Prioritize people <br />over cars. The neighborhood is not up-to -date with modern thinking and does not make walking safe <br />or attractive to the community, especially those with young children. Protected bus stops for people <br />that want to take the bus in the winter. It is too cold to stand outside by a bench. Bridge for <br />walking/biking to go over Hwy 88 by the cemetery. This is a well traveled pedestrian and bike transit <br />zone and it is very dangerous for people. PLEASE make this better. Again, prioritize people over cars. <br />Fix the horrible transition point to the Diagonal Trail bike path from St . Anthony Blvd. The current <br />path is a sidewalk, on the wrong side of the road, and unsafe for anyone ~ especially families. Please <br />improve this access point to be pedestrian and bicycle friendly to make our community more <br />enjoyable for all - from 1-100. Enforced water restrictions (my neighbor waters their yard in the <br />middle of the day every day without penalty, and other neighbors water excessively with water going <br />into the sewer). It seems the city could easily monitor violators by simply looking at water bills and <br />monthly activity. <br />Encouraging residents to reduce their consumption of energy/water resources and reduce waste <br />output , at the individual household level (identify new practices to reinforce and reward positive <br />behaviors and consumption changes, and subtle ways of nudging households that are not making <br />progress). Please consider ways to make more sustainable options the default for city managed <br />offerings (there is substantial data/studies that support this approach) <br />Removal of dead ash trees and replanting of native tree species. Rehabitation of native perennials <br />throughout park spaces. Micro-grants to individual households to transform grassed lawns and <br />other water-intensive landscaping to drought-resistant native landscaping. <br />None are necessary. <br />There is no Climate Crisis. The climate has always changed and always will. <br />operate a clean fleet continue sewer separation <br />Water and energy conservation <br />Use of alternate sources of energy. Work with Metro Transit for Better access to public <br />transportation especially to both major downtowns. Expansion of organic recycling with Ramsey Cty <br />if possible. Start a Fall cleanup day in addition to the Spring program. Educate residents as to <br />probable costs of climate change the city will be dealing with in the future - it will only get more <br />expensive to deal with aermath of weather events. Some of us are not afraid of higher taxes to <br />deal with these issues - and yes, I’m a retiree on a definitely fixed income. <br />Electric car chargers, water conservation:stricter sprinkling or alternative yard coverings(not perfect <br />green Kentucky blue grass) yards, Lights at 36th and Silver Lake Road- safer walking and biking. <br />More composting education and participation, food waste education, same with electric and gas. I <br />have a gas furnace - what does the future look like for natural gas- education. <br />Decarbonizing all city operations quickly and providing regular, practical education to residents on <br />how they can decarbonize. <br />Enhance walking paths & bike lanes for safety, ease of access
