<br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />XCEL ENERGY PARTNERS IN ENERGY <br /> Memorandum of Understanding <br /> Implementation Phase <br />• Coordinate a door-to-door businesses campaign with a program implementor <br />and Partners in Energy to share about energy efficiency assessments and <br />recommendations for projects. <br />• Share energy efficiency resources, funding, and programs to help residents reduce <br />energy use, including those experiencing high energy burden. <br />• Identify grants and funding sources to have City provide free or reduced home <br />energy audits. <br />• Cultivate partnerships with local organizations, food shelves, libraries, schools, <br />and parks. <br />• Share materials on energy efficiency and ways to reduce energy burden in joint <br />communication channels and at events. <br />• Support communication with rental property managers about energy efficiency <br />improvement opportunities for facilities and residents. <br />• Share resources with multi-family building owners and managers, retail spaces, <br />nonprofits, and senior living facilities to promote energy assessments. <br />• Coordinate creation of energy kits to distribute to residents of multi-family <br />buildings and share materials to support energy education of items. <br />• Distribute mailers and utility bill inserts for renters to learn energy-saving tips and <br />programs. Help facilitate translation of materials into other languages when <br />appropriate. <br />• Include resources in property license renewal channels. <br /> <br />Renewable Energy <br /> <br />• Create a targeted campaign for residents to partake in utility renewable energy <br />subscription programs and community solar gardens. <br />o Share guide of available programs, renewable options, and best practices for <br />residents to select programs that fit their needs. <br />o Distribute content in City communication channels like newsletter, social media, <br />tabling at events, and mailed materials to encourage support for renewables. <br />• Create a targeted campaign for renewable energy to business, commercial, and multi- <br />family building owners. <br />o Connect with Chamber of Commerce to schedule presentations at meetings and <br />share renewable energy opportunities in communications. <br />o Distribute resources and materials to businesses and multi-family building <br />owners through mailers and door-to-door outreach. <br />• Promote information regarding on-site solar including funding, utility rebates, city <br />permitting requirements, and information on installers. <br />o Identify federal, state, and utility incentives for residents and businesses to install <br />solar. <br />o Post content on solar installation resources on website, newsletters, and City <br />welcome packet when a new resident moves to St. Anthony Village. <br />• Explore solar panel installation on municipal facilities. <br />o Identify funding for solar panel installations on public buildings.
