CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br />RESOLUTION 06-022 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT A TASK FORCE TO PREPARE AN <br />UPDATE TO THE CITY OF ST. ANTHONY'S COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN <br />AS REQUIREMENT BY THE STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS, In 1998, the City of St Anthony submitted an updated Comprehensive Land Use <br />Plan as required by statute to the Metropolitan Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony has seen many changes to its Comprehensive Land Use <br />Plan since 1998 due to redevelopment, road reconstruction and population <br />growth; and <br />WHEREAS, on September 12, 2005 the City received a letter from the Metropolitan Council <br />advising the City that it would be required to provide them with a ten (10) -year <br />update to the City's Comprehensive Land Use Plan and also addressing issues as <br />identified by the Met Council's 2030 Regional Development Framework that may <br />impact the City's transportation, water resources management and regional <br />parks plans; and <br />WHEREAS, while the Comprehensive Land Use Plan establishes zoning and land uses for the <br />City, it also guides current and future zoning and land use decisions in the City; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff is seeking City Council approval to establish a task force of City <br />residents and stakeholders to provide input and information for the <br />Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update; and <br />WHEREAS, once the City Staff has established a list of interested and qualified individuals <br />for the Comprehensive Land Use Task Force, this list will be provided to the City <br />Council for approval; and <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony hereby authorizes City Staff <br />to coordinate, plan and organize the recruitment of applicants for the <br />comprehensive Land Use Plan Update Task Force for City Council approval. <br />Adopted this 14th day of February, 2006. <br />ATTEST: <br />City Clerk <br />Reviewed for administration: <br />Mayor <br />City Manager <br />25 <br />
