compensated for personal time off accrued and unused to the date of separation <br />according to the schedule in Subd. 7 (b). <br />Subd. 4 Waiver of Personal Time off Prohibited. No employee isP ermitted to waive <br />personal time off for the purpose of receiving double compensation. <br />Subd. 5 Procedure. To be eligible for personal time off with <br />, an employeepaY shall <br />report as soon as possible to this or her Department Head the need to take personal <br />time off and its estimated duration. <br />Subd. 6 Workers' Com ensation. Employees are covered by workers' compensation <br />laws of the State. In the event an employee is disabled and is entitled to workers' <br />compensation, the employee will keep any workers' compensation payments received <br />and eligible to received a bi-weekly pay check equal to 1/3 pay through the use of <br />personal time off benefits. In addition, the employee will be entitled to earn 1/3 of the <br />amount of personal time off pay they would otherwise be entitled to during an absence <br />from their employment. Employees receiving such workers' compensation will be <br />considered working for the purpose of accumulating additional personal time off <br />benefits. <br />Subd. 7 Unused Personal Time off Pay. An unused personal time offa policy is <br />P Yp Y <br />established subject to the following rules and regulations: <br />(b) Qualifying employees shall receive their accumulated personal time off up to a <br />maximum as listed in the following schedule: <br />Maximum Payment <br />0 - 3 years of service 1/2 of personal time off accrued <br />Subd. 8 Donation of Personal Time off to Employees with Serious Medical Problems. <br />0 <br />Employees may voluntarily donate personal time off time in hour increments, which <br />can be converted to use by employees facing serious medical problems or extended <br />time off due to serious medical problems and who have no accumulated personal time <br />off time or compensatory time available. The use of the donatedp ersonal time off must <br />be approved by the Department head and the City Manager and will be converted to <br />the receiving employee's paid hourly rate. This subdivision does not include temporary <br />P Y <br />or seasonal positions or unionized employees who have a sick pool that is already <br />established. <br />300.14 Leaves Without Pay. The City Manager may grant any full-time employee a <br />leave of absence without pay for a period not exceeding 90 days except that the <br />Manager may extend such leaves to a maximum period of one year in case the <br />employee is disabled or where extraordinary circumstances, in the Manager's <br />judgment, warrant such extension.
