City Council Regular Meeting Minutes October 24, 2006 Page 11 1 City Manager Mornson reported Committee assignments for 2007 were put in the 2 Councilmember's mailboxes. 3 4 City Manager Mornson mentioned the Vital Aging Newsletter would be out this week and is 5 located on the web. 6 7 Councilmember Gray — no report. 8 9 Councilmember Horst — no report. 10 11 Councilmember Stille reported that on October 18 he attended the last Comp Plan Task Force 12 meeting. He thanked all the members and volunteers who put in there time and reminded 13 everyone of the open forum on November 8. 14 15 Councilmember Thuesen reported he also attended the last Comp Plan Task Force meeting and 16 encouraged residents to come to the open house and make suggestions. He mentioned that 17 during the recognitions, he was very impressed with all the different backgrounds and all they 18 had given to St. Anthony. He stated this is one of the reasons St. Anthony is such a special city. 19 20 Mayor Faust reported on October 16 he was a member of the Chamber for the Chamber of 21 Commerce candidate forum held in Council chambers. He stated about 50 people in attendance. 22 Mayor Faust pointed out it was the first time they had a County Commissioner forum and 23 appreciated the effort from the Chamber of Commerce. 24 25 Mayor Faust reported he served on League of Minnesota Cities to select a new vendor for the 26 website on October 16, 2006. He reported the League would upgrade the website in the near 27 future and he would keep everyone up to date on its progress. 28 29 Mayor Faust stated he met with the school Superintendent, Rod Thompson on October 17, 2006 30 to get to know each other and exchange philosophies. He stressed the relationship with school 31 would continue to grow as the Council and School continues to work together. 32 33 Mayor Faust reported he attended the Minnesota League of Minnesota Cities Board meeting on 34 October 195 2006. 35 36 VIII, COMMUNITY FORUM, 37 38 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items not 39 on the regular agenda. 40 41 Mr. Douglas Jones, 2505 Silver Lane NE, stated he is a 36 -year resident of St. Anthony and a 42 former member of the Planning Commission. He thanked the Council and Planning Commission 43 for putting utilities under ground along Silver Lake Road, as it is a terrific start towards cleaning 44 up the streets and would like to see it expand throughout the community, especially further north 45 to the boarder on Silver Lake Road and Silver Lane.
