City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />October 24, 2006 <br />Page 11 <br />1 City Manager Mornson reported Committee assignments for 2007 were put in the <br />2 Councilmember's mailboxes. <br />3 <br />4 City Manager Mornson mentioned the Vital Aging Newsletter would be out this week and is <br />5 located on the web. <br />6 <br />7 Councilmember Gray — no report. <br />8 <br />9 Councilmember Horst — no report. <br />10 <br />11 Councilmember Stille reported that on October 18 he attended the last Comp Plan Task Force <br />12 meeting. He thanked all the members and volunteers who put in there time and reminded <br />13 everyone of the open forum on November 8. <br />14 <br />15 Councilmember Thuesen reported he also attended the last Comp Plan Task Force meeting and <br />16 encouraged residents to come to the open house and make suggestions. He mentioned that <br />17 during the recognitions, he was very impressed with all the different backgrounds and all they <br />18 had given to St. Anthony. He stated this is one of the reasons St. Anthony is such a special city. <br />19 <br />20 Mayor Faust reported on October 16 he was a member of the Chamber for the Chamber of <br />21 Commerce candidate forum held in Council chambers. He stated about 50 people in attendance. <br />22 Mayor Faust pointed out it was the first time they had a County Commissioner forum and <br />23 appreciated the effort from the Chamber of Commerce. <br />24 <br />25 Mayor Faust reported he served on League of Minnesota Cities to select a new vendor for the <br />26 website on October 16, 2006. He reported the League would upgrade the website in the near <br />27 future and he would keep everyone up to date on its progress. <br />28 <br />29 Mayor Faust stated he met with the school Superintendent, Rod Thompson on October 17, 2006 <br />30 to get to know each other and exchange philosophies. He stressed the relationship with school <br />31 would continue to grow as the Council and School continues to work together. <br />32 <br />33 Mayor Faust reported he attended the Minnesota League of Minnesota Cities Board meeting on <br />34 October 195 2006. <br />35 <br />36 VIII, COMMUNITY FORUM, <br />37 <br />38 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items not <br />39 on the regular agenda. <br />40 <br />41 Mr. Douglas Jones, 2505 Silver Lane NE, stated he is a 36 -year resident of St. Anthony and a <br />42 former member of the Planning Commission. He thanked the Council and Planning Commission <br />43 for putting utilities under ground along Silver Lake Road, as it is a terrific start towards cleaning <br />44 up the streets and would like to see it expand throughout the community, especially further north <br />45 to the boarder on Silver Lake Road and Silver Lane. <br />
