Background: Three Rivers Park District is redeveloping the former Salvation Army Camp on the southwest corner of Silver Lake Road and County Road E'as Silverwood Park, a .special recreation -feature park. Silverwood Park is included as a component of the Metropolitan Regional :Parks System serving the -,seven county metropolitan area. In addition to providing a regional need, Silverwood Park will. provide the City St. Anthony with public open 'space and general 'park activities such as picnicking, hiking, and lake access for small -carry -in watercraft. The master, plan for the park was presented to the City of St. Anthony Council on March ,28, 2006 and received approval from the City Council on April 25, 2006. Three Rivers Park District staff also presented an update to the City Council on October 24, 2006. Parking Considerations: Three Rivers Park District's has 'initiated the next phase of design development and anticipatesmoving forward with construction 'document . .preparation and construction in 2007.. - As the design work- for both the site development and the buildings continues, St. Anthony's city code was., reviewed to ensure that the proposed work will be in compliance with local codes.
