City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />June 12, 2007 <br />Page 4 <br />Councilmember Thuesen questioned if the good weather has assisted keeping the schedule on <br />pace. <br />4 Mr. Hubmer stated the projects are on pace. He mentioned one alley required rework which put <br />5 the schedule two weeks behind; however, they are catching up rapidly given the good dry <br />6 weather. <br />7 <br />8 Mr. Hubmer reported on the 2007 Street Reconstruction Project stating the three alleys located in <br />9 the southern portion of the project have been completed up to gravel and the contractor is <br />10 proceeding into removing existing driveways and prepping the area for new driveways and <br />11 pavement within the next two weeks. <br />12 <br />13 Mr. Hubmer reported the removal of asphalt and curb on 27°1 Avenue and Pahl Avenue began <br />14 during the week of June 4, 2007. He stated the contractor would begin installation of the water <br />15 main and storm sewer in these streets over the next couple of weeks. <br />16 <br />17 Mr. Hubmer stated installation of water main and sanitary sewer on 39i" Avenue is nearing <br />18 completion and the contractor would then begin the storm sewer installation, followed by 30`" <br />19 Avenue from Fordham to Silver Lake Road. He indicated this work is anticipated to take several <br />20 more weeks to complete. <br />21 <br />22 Mr. Hubmer reported the repair to the sanitary sewer pip bursting on Chandler Drive was <br />23 completed during the week of June 4, 2007. I -Ie stated the sanitary sewer force main directional <br />24 boring from the Foss Road Lift Station to Roseville is anticipated to begin during the week of <br />25 June 11, 2007. Mr. Hubmer stated this would disturb the entrance to Wilshire Park Elementary <br />26 School off 37"i Avenue and access to IIigherest Avenue and 37°' Avenue. He stated meetings <br />27 have been held to coordinate activities at Wilshire Park Elementary. <br />28 <br />29 Mr. I-iubmer next reported on the Water Meter Replacement Program and the I&I Reduction <br />30 Program. He commented that there less than 100 meters remain to be replaced. I -Ie explained <br />31 that some replacements are waiting for parts or some would be difficult installations. He stated <br />32 each of the 100 have been contacted at least once. He indicated those who do not respond would <br />33 begin receiving the $100 monthly fee. <br />34 <br />35 Mr. Hubmer reported the Water Treatment Plant Improvements are complete and the new filters <br />36 are performing as anticipated. He commented one report of dirty water was received. He <br />37 commented this was due to the dry weather and the water main break stirring up the water. He <br />38 recommended letting the water run for a while and it would clear up. <br />39 <br />40 Mr. Hubmer reported the he has hand several meetings with Hennepin County staff regarding the <br />41 cost and funding formula associated with the Silver Lake Road project. He commented <br />42 communication would continue on coordinating the installation and grounding of overhead <br />43 utilities. <br />44 <br />45 Mr. Hubmer reported on the County Road 88 Improvements. He stated the existing concrete <br />46 would be rubblized and overlaid with a new asphalt surface. He reported the project would <br />17 <br />
