Outlined below please find a list of the projects and their current status:
2007 Street Reconstruction Project and Foss Road Lift Station Improvements
All utility and sheet reconstruction improvements have been completed for this year's street
reconstruction project. There are a number of restoration items that still need to be addressed and are
anticipated to be completed within the next week or two.
A number of residents have expressed concerns associated with the sod placement on the 2007
project and the watering by the contractor. We have reviewed the watering procedures with the
contractor and he has made corrections as necessary. In addition, we will send out a mailing to the
residents in early spring alerting them to the contractor coming back to the project to deal with punch
list items and any yard settlements that have occurred over the winter months. This list of items will
be compiled and given to the contractor for correction prior to issuance of final payment.
The Poss Road Lift Station has been constructed and is currently operational. Restoration of
Chandler Drive, Foss Road, and the lift station site will be completed in the next week to 10 days.
2. Water Meter Replacement Program and I&I Inspections
At the time of the writing of this letter, 2,260 water meters have been replaced within the City of St.
Anthony Village. There remain approximately 40 meters to be installed, 25 of which are residential
and 15 commercial. The majority of the commercial installations are specialty meters that are
currently on order and will be installed upon receipt. We are working closely with the remaining 25
residential homes to replace their water meters and are sending out final notices which include the
possibility that the City will shut off the water until the meter can be replaced.
We have been meeting regularly with Sensus, the provider of the automated water meter system, to
discuss the issues associated with reading the transmissions from the water meters. Based on our
discussions and reviewing the latest readings from the recently installed repeaters, there are
approximately 469 meters which need to be replaced or reprogrammed. This work is anticipated to
occur over the next several weeks and be complete by the middle of December, in time for the 4°i
quarter utility billing.
We continue to work closely with Met Council to secure the necessary credits to offset the proposed
surcharge. More information will be presented in the next update.
K\ 1626-22\Admin\Docs\Cn2-hmcc- 110707.doc
