Resolution 08-063; To Oppose the Grand Rounds Trail System Missing Link through the City of St. Anthony Village as Proposed by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. 4 Mayor Faust stated at the September 9, 2008 City Council meeting there was discussion about 5 the recent Star Tribune article stating that the Grand Rounds Trail System would be going 6 through the City of St. Anthony. No one had spoken with the City of St. Anthony, and it 7 appeared the trail system would proceed with or without any input from them. He stated it is 8 ironic that the City of St. Anthony is an autonomous legal entity and authority would be needed 9 for anything to be done here. If nothing, it is more the courtesy of this position being discussed 10 with them. With that, Council directed staff to draft the proposed resolution. 11 12 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Roth, to adopt Resolution 08- 1.3 063;'].'o Oppose the Grand Rounds Trail System Missing Link through the City of St. Anthony 14 Village as Proposed by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. 15 16 Councilmember Gray recited Resolution 08-063. 17 18 Motion carried unanimously. 19 20 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. 21 22 Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes reported on the following: 23 9 Emerald Park tax abatement hearing is scheduled for October 14, 2008 at 7 p.m. 24 a Emerald Park open house is scheduled for October 27, 2008, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 25 a September 15, 2008 Single Garbage Hauler Task Force meeting 26 a Upcoming Single Garbage Hauler'I'ask Force meeting scheduled for October 20, 2008, 27 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 28 0 December 15, 2008 is an available date for the alternate Truth in Taxation meeting. This 29 date was previously tentatively scheduled for December 23, 2008. 30 31 Mayor Faust noted the regular scheduled City Council meeting should be rescheduled to 32 December 15, 2008 if the Truth in Taxation meeting is held on this date. Typically the second 33 City Council meeting has not been held in December. 34 35 Consensus of the Council was to direct staff to schedule the alternate Truth in Taxation meeting 36 for December 15, 2008. 37 38 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to reschedule the regular 39 scheduled December 23, 2008 City Council meeting to December 15, 2008. 40 41 Motion carried unanimously. 42 43 Councilmember Stille reported on his attendance at the following events: 44 a September 15, 2008 Single Garbage Hauler Task Force meeting 45 a September 23, 2008 Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) 46 workshop held on the Mississippi River. 0
